FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE - FIVE ON FRIDAY

1. The weather had cooled down and it was real nice to sit outside with my computer and do what I had to do.

Meanwhile Oscar mowed the lawn and cat Arthur watched it from far.

The school holidays  will be finished at the end of the week on a Friday (!!)  so it's better to stay home and let parents do their last shopping. Each year it is the same, it is a big event here and in the news every evening.

2. Ilona came for a visit and after having sat on the terrace for a while,  I called Nicole and we met in our Brasserie "l'Orangerie du Prince" for a drink. Dog Charlie of course was there too and was looking for the cows.

3. This time they had gathered all old coaches in an old barn.

They were just parked there and I don't know yet what they will do with them. They are probably for decorating the place, as it was a huge farm with lot of land around.

4. Long time ago Mr. G. had done special programs for a Karting company. He had told about that to a friend and she had said it to her two grandchildren.

Of course they wanted to go ! So we went all together, Grandma, a girl of 20 and a boy of 13, and had a lot of fun. We watched them from the restaurant, racing by. I took a lot of pictures but most of them came out blurred.

After the tour we had a drink and then returned home. The two teenagers were very excited about this adventure.

5. I had to get up early because my cleaning lady arrives around 7, and after having done my shopping, we had lunch and then I wanted to watch a little crime story. Apparently I fell asleep, because when I woke up the crime story was long finished and there was a stupid program going on. It was already late, so I planted my fake flowers I had bought in the morning in the pots where the fresh once had fainted and now it looks nice again. Everybody compliments me on my beautiful flowers !

EDINBURG TATTOO 2016

When I booked my tour from Eastbourne to Edinburgh, I was a little surprised that a tattoo exhibition was made there ! I hate tattoos ! But, I thought, while they are visiting the exhibition, I can visit Edinburg which I had already seen in 2013. But then I discovered that the "Tattoo" was something completely different. Fortunately I wasn't the only European who had thought the same, when I met French and Belgian people. Read more here.../...

WEEKEND REVIEW August 29

It was still very hot on Saturday and I have to admit that when I did my weekly shopping in our specialized deepfreeze shop I stayed longer then necessary because I wanted to cool down.

For the afternoon I had invited two friends Monique and Nicole plus Charlie of course, and with the help of a ventilator it was nice to sit in the garden and to eat and drink cake and coffee.

Mr. G. had brought an enormous bone for Charlie from the market and he was the happiest dog in the world. It was amazing in how short time he ate the whole bone !

We were talking about our Facebook meeting on Friday, because Monique is also on Facebook. Suddenly Nicole, who always was against Facebook decided to subscribe too. We helped her with the subscription, but then she needed a picture !

The photo session was hilarious. Once she was too near, once to far away, once she made a face and we laughed and laughed until finally she was happy with the result. We put the picture in her profile, but then couldn't continue because she had forgotten her mobile at home and they always sent a reference number. We had a very nice afternoon !

Sunday morning started as "usual" (I mean like the last few days) already hot in the morning and sunshine ! Then suddenly it cooled down, the sunshine disappeared and I had to open the shutters again to let light in ! I think I have to change to autumn clothes today, after having been half naked for the last days. Finally it got warmer again and I could sit outside.

I decided to do a lazy afternoon and worked with my computer. Then the doorbell rang, it was Nicole who had had lunch with her son nearby and so she came to say hello. We finished the last things on her Facebook page, there wasn't here picture yet and then I showed her how to find friends. She was so surprised to find her daughter, her son and her 3 grandchildren and to be able to see what they had posted ! I told her to send friend requests which she did and suddenly she had them all ! Was she happy ! I want to see now the faces of her grandchildren who treated her always as a little stupid concerning tablets and computers and now she has her own Facebook page !

We had a coffee together and then she returned home and I continued, it was so nice to sit outside because it was not hot at all.
